Haverhill Bank’s Elizabeth “Liz” Cronin was recently named Exchangite of the Year by the Breakfast Exchange Club of Greater Haverhill, recognizing her sensitivity to community needs and service to fulfill the club’s mission.
Cronin, vice president of compliance for Haverhill Bank, was unanimously selected by a committee of past award recipients and is the club’s only award. Immediate Past President Diane Galvin said Cronin became a standout early on, accepting the position as treasurer when the post became vacant.
“The president of the club asked if she could do the job and without hesitation she said, ‘Yes I will, whatever you need.’ That is Liz’s attitude about everything we do. If there is a need, she will fill it without hesitation. Liz is not a person who looks for recognition or who seeks out awards. She is a member because she cares about people in need, and she wants to do whatever she can to help us fulfill our mission. She is there for the right reasons,” Galvin said.
Cronin, who also serves on the board of the Breakfast Exchange Club, also takes on other volunteer tasks. She recently took a trip to Moldova to help Ukrainian refugees, Galvin cited as another example. “If Liz believes in a cause, she will go to any lengths to help out. She believes in taking action, rather than talking about things. She strives to make a difference in this world, and the Breakfast Exchange Club is lucky to have her as a member and board member,” Galvin added.
Cronin joined Haverhill Bank three years ago. She delivers more than 30 years of management experience and began her banking career in 2007. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Gordon College.
